GCSP Alumni community hubs are going global

Social capital is what matters and we are pleased to see GCSP alumni collaborate together locally to support the security policy process in their country.

By Isabelle Gillet, Head of Alumni and Community Engagement

We are delighted that our network of hubs is expanding! In addition to our hubs in Addis AbabaBrusselsCairoGenevaParis and Stockholm, we inaugurated the GCSP Alumni Community Hub in Tbilisi on 31 May, and the hub in Belgrade will open on 13 September 2018. KievIslamabadMexico CityNew YorkChișinău will follow.

The GCSP alumni community is global and inclusive. We count today over 6’500 members who are active in the governmental, civil society and the private sector.

We encourage the establishment of community hubs to foster a greater sense of union among GCSP alumni living in the same area, to bring the alumni’s intellectual capital together in an informal network and provide a forum of exchange. These local hubs will form a sustainable network of experts.

“I strongly believe in my spirit that the GCSP alumni community will be a great help in pursuing my career and dreams, through sharing of knowledge from experienced people all over the world. Also this community will serve as a source of my inspiration to do more great work for my country and other parts of the world that I may be fortunate to work in.” WHO, Sierra Leone Alumna - 2017 Health Security Course

A sincere thank you goes out to our alumni hub leaders who volunteer to drive the community and take initiatives to unite the members.
