Position(s) International Investigative Journalist

Annie Hylton is an international investigative journalist and magazine writer from Canada. Through long-form narrative writing, seeks to create empathy and illustrate the human stakes behind key policy debates. She writes about gender, immigration, human rights, and conflict, and has worked in the Middle East, Central America, and Africa, among others. She teaches investigative journalism at Sciences Po in Paris and was a former international human rights lawyer focusing on situations of conflict. She is a graduate of Columbia University’s Stabile Center for Investigative Journalism and also holds a J.D. and Master of Laws in international humanitarian law and human rights. She is a recipient of the 2018 NYU Reporting Award and a visiting scholar at NYU's Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute. She is a 2018 grantee of the International Women’s Media Foundation Howard G. Buffett Fund. Her work has also been supported by Thomson Reuters Foundation, The Stanley Foundation, and the Nation Institute Investigative Fund.
