Defence Attachés operate at the intersection of diplomacy, strategy, economics and public affairs. As their roles and missions are complex and evolving, it is important for new Defence Attachés to be properly prepared to take on this function.
The NATO Office of Legal Affairs annually organizes the NATO Legal Practitioners’ Workshop. Led by Mr Steven Hill, Legal Adviser and Director of Office of Legal Affairs, the workshop convenes all legal advisers of the NATO system.
On 15 and 16 March, 40 top legal advisers from NATO and the Partnership for Peace (PfP) gathered in Geneva for the 2nd Symposium for Senior NATO/PfP Legal Advisers, organised by the Security and Law Programme at GCSP.
Tobias Vestner, Cluster Leader within the Security and Law Programme at the GCSP, presented and led the discussions on Responsibility to Protect, Protection of Civilians and Cultural Property Protection.
